Managing Users

The Edit User dialog will allow you to configure a user, this is accessed by double clicking a user name in the User Management Console. A multi-user system will have to have the "Exclusive User Access" option turned off (uncheck the checkbox in the Edit User dialog). If the Exclusive User Access checkbox is cleared then the Administrator can add extra users up to the limit defined by the installation serial number.

Users can be assigned to as many roles as are available, except the System Administration role. Knowledge Builder will not allow a user to log on if they are not assigned to a role. To create new user right click on 'Users' in the User Management Console and select 'New User'.

If you have two users connected to the system and each of the users belong to separate roles, Knowledge Builder will not, by default, show any changes to the other user when they occur. However, if one of the users belong to both of the roles then the changes will be seen. The frequency with which Knowledge Builder refreshes the display can be changed from the "Explorer Refresh" option in the Project Tools dialog. You can also force a refresh to your screen by pressing the F5 function key.
